Quality geta clogs wooden boards attached with thin but solid oak high stand (‘ha’ lit. teeth), called ‘sashiba-geta’ (false-tooth geta), also called ‘itamae-geta’ (chef geta) for their traditional use. A very refined work of art in very Japanised architectural shape by skillful geta craftsman, remaining from old geta shop at geisha quarter as dead stock. Showa period.
