Pure but somehow weird and scary traditional wooden kokeshi doll of tall type (42.5cm (16.73in)) hand-crafted by the local kokeshi artist in Aizu region, Yoshizo Iwamoto (1912-1973), circa 1957 for the reference. Called ‘Takobozu’ (shaven head like figure of octopus as contemptuous word) as such unique and large goggle eyes and big nose, and peony flowers on the body, categorized into Nakanosawa type as a part of Tsuchiyu kokeshi school.
