Hidden Japanese mandala abstraction of delicate handknitting composed of bamboo sheaths, its thin strips, and indigo blue-colored washi paper, as unique old mingei folk bamboo sheath hat used for farmwork or fishery, seen mostly in the western Japan categorized into a type of ‘Takenoko-gasa’ (lit; ‘Bamboo shoots hat’), but unusually larger (normally around 40cm) and thinner make backed with such blue paper as its rare arrangement and its refined ‘wabi’ color tone hardly seen.
